Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a disc extrusion in the buttock and severe leg pain on the right side for the past four years. I have lower back pain, pain in the buttock, a tingling sensation down my thigh all the way into my big toe. I cannot stand or sit for long. I have attached images from an MRI and would like them to read. I had an MRI four years ago and had a broad-based disc protrusion at L4-L5.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, the clinical symptoms result from a herniated disc at lumbar segments four and five can impinge nerves that run down the legs causing sciatic-like symptoms. This type of herniated disc can cause low back pain with weakness when raising the big toe and numbness with pain on the top of the foot. You can wear a back brace that will support and prevent your back from any further injuries. You can take Baclofen (Liofen) as a muscle relaxant with Calcium plus Vitamin D supplements and Vitamin B complex along with your currently using medications. You should also take a rest for few months with light exercise like walking. If u provide me the dose of your present medications, then I will be able to provide you a full prescription.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
