What is the most effective way to whiten yellowish teeth?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had my teeth cleaned a couple of times during the last two years, but still, I could see that my teeth are slightly yellowish with deposits near the gum. I usually brush only once during the morning, and after my last cleaning, I started to brush twice, but I could not see any difference.

Is there something I could do to have white teeth and reduce the yellowish appearance? Also, I do not know if this helps, but I also use mouth wash during my morning brushing.

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You can use bleaching to get whiter teeth. The teeth are mostly white on the outside, and if you brush too hard, the white enamel gets abraded off, and yellowish dentine starts showing from the inside. So please brush without pressing too hard on the teeth, and you can brush twice a day after food. Take care to touch all surfaces of teeth. You can use an interdental brush too.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.
