Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 35-year-old female. I underwent laser surgery on both eyes 14 years back and it was not successful. My eyesight power came back along with cylindrical power. My power was stable for the last ten years. Now my vision has become 6/4. But I found that I have dry eyes. After using lubricant, I get some relief. But by morning, I am unable to open my eyes. My eyes also become red often. Is it due to increased screen time? What can be done further to manage dry eyes?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. Using computers, and smartphones causes dry eye due to decreased blink rate. Take frequent breaks and look at far objects as your eyes get strained looking at close objects for a long time. Keep the screen brightness to a minimum. Use Flogel HA eye drops (Sodium hyaluronate 0.1 %) three times daily and Ara gel (Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) at night before sleeping. Use antiglare glasses. Hope this helps. Thank you and take care.
