Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My left ear is is suddenly closed, and felt like someone was sticking a finger on my ear. Sometimes it gets better, and sometimes it gets worse. When I stand up, I feel like I am going to puke, but sometimes I feel I cannot hear anything, and when I yawn, I hear some bubbles popping up, making my ears painful. I informed my father, who told me it was fine and used ear drops and massages, but nothing worked. I need help; this is the first time something like this has happened to me. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for your query, It is an issue of eustachian tube blockage, the tube connecting the middle ear with the back of the nose through which the fluid from the ear drains. You may feel the symptoms of a cold, like a nasal blockage. I suggest you take nasal decongestants and mucolytics. The retained fluid in the ear can become infected and may lead to perforation of the tympanic membrane. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medication with their consent. Please follow up for further assistance. Thank you.
