Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 35-year-old female with an average weight and a height of five feet. Recently, I was diagnosed with a cyst next to my ears. Sometimes, it gets swelled or infected and causes pain. Now I am on a waiting list to get removed. Today, I waked up with a headache, nausea, and swollen lymph nodes in the neck and groin as well as the cyst in the ear got swollen and sore. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The signs of headache, nausea, swollen lymph nodes, and ear being swollen and sore indicates that the cyst has been infected. I suggest you start taking a course of antibiotics and pain killers as you are still on the waiting list to get operated. You can take tablet Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxicillin 500 mg with Clavulanic acid 125 mg) one tablet two times a day for five days for infection, take tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg one tablet once in the morning before breakfast for five days, take tablet Paracetamol 500 mg one tablet two times a day for five days for swelling and headache and take tablet Ondansetron 4 mg when you have nausea or vomiting. Please send a photo of the cyst next to the ears and it helps to guide you further.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
