Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I would like an opinion on my son's recent ECG result. Is it possible to upload this for advice?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This ECG (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) is normal. For dizziness and lightheadedness, check his blood pressure and keep him hydrated. Dehydration or lower blood pressure can cause dizziness. For chest pains, it can be musculoskeletal, lung lung-related issues like infection or asthma. I need a detailed history and physical examination to make a diagnosis. Does he have asthma?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am attaching his baseline ECG reports that were done two months ago. He had asthma as a young child but not now.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

That ECG (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) is also normal. Asthma can cause chest pain and tightness. Propranolol can worsen asthma as it is a non-selective beta blocker. His chest needs to be auscultated for wheezing. Moreover, if asthma is suspected then a pulmonary function test should be done. Non-specific chest pain can occur which has no detectable cause. In that case, only painkillers are given to temporarily relieve pain till the body itself heals the cause.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
