Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I took Postinor two pills 72 hours prevention three times in one cycle. Please tell me what are the consequences? I have been having lower abdominal pain and light drops of blood each time I pee and wipe my vagina. I fear if AV caused more harm to myself because my menstrual period is at hand but no flow yet. Please tell me what can I do in this situation?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Emergency contraceptive pills prevent pregnancy by interfering with the normal cycle and preventing ovulation, fertilization, implantation, etc., and in return gives withdrawal bleed within 1 to 2 weeks. As soon your reproductive system got ready for bleeding, you took another emergency pill like this three times, the cycle would have got disturbed. That is why you are not getting proper menstrual bleeding. Now no need to have any hormonal treatment. Let the body can have some time to return to normal, regular pace. In between, you might have bleeding irregular, spotting, etc. Have a healthy diet, mild exercise, and walk and nice recreational activities to come back to normal pace.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
