Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from a strong attachment to a person I loved and who left me. I do not know what is the appropriate medicine that will relieve the symptoms of sadness because I no longer have the feeling of happiness.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your situation and it is tough to deal with it. You may have a major depressive disorder. There is non-pharmacological management for your depression, you should try to follow the below guidelines to deal with it. It will help you.

1. You must move on in your life.

2. Delete all his contacts and stop stalking him on social media.

3. Remove all the stuff related to his memories.

4. You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes like at least going for a walk.

5. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily, just sit in one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing. Do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts, just let them be. It will help you to relax.

6. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods.

7. You must drink enough water.

8. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family.

9. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.

10. You should take enough seven to eight hours of sleep daily.

11. You must avoid tobacco or alcohol or any substance abuse.

12. You must find a reason to live your life, do not just waste it on someone who does not care for you and left you.

13. Be bold and confident.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please, let me know if you want some help.
