Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My girlfriend has been having occasional pain in the epigastric region and nausea since last night. Also, she complains of chest heaviness and mild shortness of breath. Is it something serious? What to do now? Please give me your opinion.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Do not worry. It is due to hyperacidity. And I suggest you to give her the medications mentioned below,

1. Pantocid-L (Pantoprazole and Levosulpiride) capsule before meals three times a day.

2. Citrucel dietary fiber (laxative) supplement with plenty of water.

3. Ondansetron (antiemetic) if there is nausea or vomiting.

Please consult with a specialist, talk to them and take the medications with their consent.

Take care.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

She has been taking Rabeprazole sodium 20 mg twice daily in the morning before breakfast and at 9 PM since yesterday. Today she was absolutely fine the whole day, there was no nausea or vomiting. But she experienced mild epigastric pain in the evening around 6 PM, which was relieved after taking food. If she experiences pain inspite of taking Rabeprazole then what to do? How long it will take to cure completely? Is it something serious? We are worried.

Kindly provide a solution for this.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is nothing serious. Kindly continue the medicines I suggested earlier, and she will be fine within seven to ten days. It is hyperacidity that is causing her trouble. However, I suggest you to follow a few instructions below,

1. Give her Gaviscon (Sodium Alginate, Calcium Carbonate, and Sodium Bicarbonate) syrup before dinner.

2. Let her take Pantocid-L (Pantoprazole and Levosulpiride) before meals three times a day. It is better than Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor).

3. Take Citrucel dietary fiber (laxative) supplement with plenty of water.

4. Take Ondansetron (antiemetic) tablet if there is nausea or vomiting.

I hope this has helped you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
