Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

We are planning for a baby, and when I attempt intimacy, the penis becomes flaccid after some time, preventing us from having proper intercourse. This issue has been occurring for the past month. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

According to your complaints, you suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED). The reasons for erectile dysfunction (ED) include:

  1. Stress due to work or family-related issues, night duties - consider planning for regular exercise and yoga.
  2. Depression.
  3. Varicocele - an ultrasound of the scrotum can help diagnose this.
  4. Fear of failure - experiencing one episode of ED may make you fear future occurrences.
  5. Low self-esteem (chronic Masturbation).
  6. Homosexuality - not being attracted to the same sex.
  7. Religious constraints.
  8. Smoking and alcohol consumption.
  9. Long-term illness, such as cardiac disease, thyroid disease, kidney disease, or any other condition requiring prolonged medication.
  10. Simple vitamin deficiency.
  11. Negative attitude towards your partner.
  12. Hormonal issues - including thyroid problems, low testosterone, and increased prolactin.
  13. Long-term drug usage.
  14. Diabetes and hypertension.

I suggest you undergo Doppler penis, USG (ultrasound sonography) pelvis and scrotum, blood pressure, RBS (Random blood sugar), Free T3 (triiodothyronine), T4 (tetraiodothyronine), TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), and testosterone levels. Please share more details regarding the above reasons so we can work on diagnosis and treatment. Also, consider planning for regular exercise and a proper diet. The list of exercises includes:

  1. Basic exercises like Kegels, squats, yoga, running, or fast walking for five minutes.
  2. Missionary sex position: Planks, push-ups, mountain climbers, and glute bridges.
  3. Standing sex position: Bicep curls, pull-ups, and jump squats.
  4. Doggy style: Jump squats and walking lunge.
  5. Cowgirl or the girl on the top move: Glute bridges and leg raises.

Include strawberries, apples, avocados, sweet potatoes, sesame seeds, almonds, garlic, and a little chocolate in your diet. For a temporary solution, you can use tablet Tadalafil 5 mg twice a day.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
