Why does an erection subside during intercourse?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello,

I got married two weeks ago. Everything was fine before marriage and still fine, but getting problems with erections just at the time of intercourse from the day first. Firstly I think it is because of so much travel and tiredness it is happening. But still the same, it erected fully during foreplay and everything, but when I try to have intercourse, the erection stops. I do not know why. But I think it might be a psychological thing. At that time, I get stressed and start thinking about how, how much, where, and what should I do. Can you tell me better what the problem is? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From what I can understand after reading your problem, I can say that it is mostly psychological since you said that you think too much regarding how to proceed, which puts a lot of performance pressure, and, in the end, it gets stressed out. It is very natural and common to face such situations after marriage due to mental thinking that one needs to perform and satisfy the partner. My advice to you would be to have a relaxing environment and not overthink it, and also talk to your partner openly regarding it, which might actually help. If such situations still persist, you might definitely need some medical help, but as of now, I do not see anything wrong other than being psychological. For anything in the future, I am always here to help.

I hope this helps.

Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
