Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have an erectile dysfunction problem. I got married three years back. Since then, I have noticed this problem. I have consulted the doctor earlier, and they did a physical examination and sperms test. Everything was normal. They said that it might be because of psychological problems related to stress.
Please suggest medications that will help. Currently, I do not get a hard erection and if I get an erection, it goes in a few seconds, and I cannot maintain it.
How should I overcome this? Please help me with this.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Erectile dysfunction is a troublesome problem for men. I understand your concern and will help you out. I will prescribe you a stress-reducing medication to block your adrenalin so that stress cannot ruin your erections. You need to follow the below-mentioned advice.
1. Propranolol 20 mg one hour before intercourse.
2. Zinc 50 mg thrice daily.
3. Until you recover, you need to wear a penis prosthesis during intercourse. It has to be one of a kind where your penis goes inside the prothesis. So you can satisfy your wife without emotional pressure, and your penis can recover.
Also, I would like to know about masturbation history as men younger than 65 years get erectile dysfunction due to the damage caused by masturbation.
Please follow up in a week.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for your suggestion.
I would like to mention that my wife is not with me now. So the use of Propranolol and wearing a strap is only applicable when she is here. I will take all the preventive measures as suggested.
Do I need to continue with the Zinc now? Does it have any other side effects? And how many days do I have to continue taking Zinc?
Please suggest.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, you understood it correctly. Use Propranolol and the strap-on prothesis only when needed, and you can start with Zinc tablets now. Zinc orotate or Zinc aspartate does not cause any side effects at 3x50 mg/day. However, if you experience any side effects, we may reduce the dose.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am following all your advice, and now I have started living with my wife, so I am about to start taking Propranolol tablets. I want to mention that I have mild asthma.
Can tablet Propranolol 20 mg affect my asthma?
Please suggest.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
In case of asthma, you must not take tablet Propranolol. There should also be a warning on the box. To reduce the stress, you may take a safe tablet of Hydroxyzine.
I wish you good luck. If your problems persist, we can discuss further options.
