Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I think I had a stye that popped. I have never had an eye infection before. I went to urgent care because the swelling increased, and I was feeling pain when I looked to one side and in the sinus area below my eye. I am on Augmentin, Bactrim, and topical Erythromycin day two, and the pain has reduced now. But what concerns me is it looks like there is clear skin over my eye that is no longer tight around my eye. And I would just like to know if I should be concerned. Is it due to multiple days of hot compresses or something else? Would you please give me your opinion on this? Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

I have uploaded reports with the right eye that has the issue, and the other one too even though it is normal. Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

In my opinion, this is chemosis (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Is there any decrease of vision in the associated eye? Are you diabetic and hypertensive? The treatment you are on is alright, but you need to add some eye drops as well. It will take at least a week to get resolved. Add Moxicip KT (Ketorolac and Moxifloxacin) eye drop every two hours in the right eye for one week. Take tablet Limcee (Ascorbic acid) 500 mg thrice for one week and tablet Combiflam (Ibuprofen and Paracetamol) twice for one week. Review again after five days or earlier if there is no improvement. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, there is a decrease in vision of that eye, it is a little blurry, and I do not use glasses or contacts. I am not diabetic and hypertensive. I will look into those medications you recommended. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist this week. Is there something I should look out for if it would take me to an ER or so? I am trying not to get too worried. Would you please give me your opinion on this? Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I advise you to wait for two days and look for improvements with treatment in two days. Then, you may not have to go to ER. Please do not worry about it. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
