Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am diagnosed with a fatty liver. I just quit drinking, and the doctor mentioned exercising and eating more healthily. Is medical marijuana an alternative to help with my anxiety? I am not sure if medical marijuana would continue to do damage to my liver. Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I will help you in solving your concern. Fatty liver is a common condition nowadays. You have a habit of drinking alcohol, so by drinking excess alcohol, you have alcoholic liver disease, which is fatty liver. In fatty liver, fat accumulates in hepatocytes. So, you must keep your BMI (body mass index) below 25. Take a low-fat diet. Daily 1 hour of active exercise like cycling, brisk walking, and swimming should be done. Sugar cane juice, orange juice, apple juice, etc., can be helpful. Restrict alcohol intake as well. No need to take marijuana at all. I will advise you to check your cholesterol as well. For anxiety, yoga and meditation are beneficial.

I hope this will help you
