Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old girl working in an IT firm. Being away from my parents and frequently eating out, I have been experiencing health issues like bloating and stomach cramps. I am curious about the importance of nutrition and a healthy diet for someone in my situation. How does nutrition contribute to overall well-being, especially for individuals with a busy lifestyle? Can you offer advice on making healthier food choices while eating out? Are there specific nutrients that I should focus on to solve digestive problems? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

We will pay close attention to your worries and address all your questions with utmost care.

I suggest you do the following:

  1. In your case, try to eat fresh foods. The best way is to cook for yourself (no restaurant can replace a home kitchen).

  2. If it is not possible, then try to eat fresh food, avoid reheated meals, and avoid raw food like salads or fruits (because foods that are not heated have more germs when compared to those foods that are heated or cooked).

  3. Avoid sweets since bacteria grow faster in sweets.

  4. Add regular probiotics to your diet. Take yogurt daily as this is a a natural source of probiotics, or commercially available probiotics once daily for two to four weeks.

  5. I suggest you take the antacid syrup Gaviscon (Sodium alginate) 10 ml post meals to get rid of bloating and abdominal discomfort.

If you have persistent symptoms after following the above, try to arrange for someone who can cook for you.

I wish you good health.

Do revert in case of any further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
