Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had boils on my shoulder and back for the last two days. It causes itchiness and a burning sensation. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

According to your statement, it seems like folliculitis. I suggest you take the following medications and revert after three weeks. Take capsule Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and Onak SR lotion (Sulfur and Resorcinol) after bath. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response. Could you please explain what it is and what causes it? Also, should I follow any restrictions for diet, clothing, and cosmetics? I have to get vaccinated tomorrow. Will it affect me in any way? Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Folliculitis is a bacterial infection of the hair follicle due to hormonal changes, tight clothing, and sweating. There is no restriction in the diet but avoid tight clothing and sweating. You can take the vaccine safely with this medication as well as with this disease. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your response. The medicine has to be taken before or after food? Also, I am taking homeopathy medicine for thyroid and prenatal multivitamins. Can I continue them?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can take this medication anytime, and there will not be interaction with thyroid medication. Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
