What can be done for frequent urge to urinate?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 22 years old, five feet four inches, and 165 pounds, a man suffering from a repeated urge to urinate every hour. This problem has been present since childhood and has persisted to date, with no changes during this time interval.

Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You are having repeated urination problems. For that, you need to investigate as follows. Serum random blood sugar estimation to rule out diabetes, urine routine microscopic examination to rule out any infection, if present, ultrasonography of the pelvis to look inside the bladder and kidney, if no cause is identified, then a urodynamic flow study can be done. You can consult a urologist for examination and discuss all these.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.
