Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a white tongue with a red patch in the middle and there is the presence of grey blisters. It hurts while eating and swallowing. It has been six days and still, I have a fever, blisters on the roof of my mouth, and swollen labia in my vaginal region. Last week, I noticed a green discharge on my tampon. Also, I had oral sex and kissing afterward about five days back.

My symptoms have worsened, and I am using an anti-fungal gel for the past four days. I am also taking oral pills twice a day and using hydrogen peroxide mouthwash but there seems to be no improvement. I am currently taking the tablet Panadol, oral tablets, using Daktarin antifungal gel, and Silicea cold sore gel. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am here to provide expert opinion on your medical issues.

It sounds like you may be experiencing some concerning symptoms that require medical attention. The combination of a white tongue with red patches and blisters, painful swallowing, ongoing fever, blisters on the roof of your mouth, swollen labia, and unusual discharge could indicate a potential infection or other underlying condition. It is essential to receive prompt medical care for a proper evaluation and necessary treatment. This potentially could be a sign of an infection, such as an oral thrush or a sexually transmitted infection.

I suggest you follow the below-mentioned common treatments for oral thrush:

  1. Antifungal medications: These come in the form of oral rinses, lozenges, or tablets that are used to kill the fungus causing the infection. Examples of commonly prescribed antifungal medications include Nystatin, Fluconazole, and Clotrimazole.
  2. Good oral hygiene: Practicing good oral hygiene is important for treating oral thrush. Brush your teeth regularly with a soft toothbrush and use an antimicrobial mouthwash or rinse as recommended by your healthcare professional.
  3. Soothing agents: Over-the-counter oral gels or lozenges that contain ingredients like Benzocaine may help relieve discomfort associated with oral thrush. However, it is important to speak with a healthcare professional before using any over-the-counter products.
  4. Treating underlying conditions: If an underlying condition, such as diabetes or a weakened immune system, is contributing to the development of oral thrush, it is important to address and manage that condition as well.

Please remember that it is crucial to consult a healthcare professional to get an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan for your individual situation. They will be able to guide you on the most effective treatment options based on your specific needs.

I hope you got answers to all the queries that you had. Please follow up if needed.

Thank you.
