Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am suffering from diarrhea and vomiting. I feel nauseated while eating. My BP is on the lower side, 95/60 mmHg. I did not take any medicine, just having salt water with lemon.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. It is obvious that you have a condition called gastroenteritis. It is commonly caused by viral infections, though bacterial infections and food poisoning can also be responsible. In your case, the low blood pressure is a result of fluid loss from diarrhea and vomiting. Rehydrating with ORS (oral rehydration salt) and other fluids is important. To manage vomiting, I recommend considering antiemetic medication such as Metoclopramide. It's advisable to consult your doctor, have a discussion regarding your condition, and take the prescribed medication with their consent. Opt for small servings of soups, toasted bread, and white cheese for sustenance. Additionally, a stool test would be prudent to rule out bacterial infections. Take care.
