Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 29-year-old male and have undergone multiple tests and consulted with several doctors. For over two years now, my semen has been consistently green in color. The urine test always comes back normal, but the tests on my semen have shown the presence of Staphylococcus haemolyticus and Staphylococcus epidermidis on multiple occasions and at different intervals. I was diagnosed with both Staphylococcus haemolyticus and Staphylococcus epidermidis infections this year, which were treated with Cotrimoxazole tablet twice a day for 10 days. It resulted in severe side effects such as leg tremors and overall weakness, along with slight swelling of a vein in the scrotum. There was no improvement in symptoms and the color of semen turned greener. I have undergone a semen culture test. My current symptoms include weak erections that improve with antibiotics but recur, green semen, greenish-yellow prostatic fluid, and heavy snoring. So please recommend a proper antibiotic regimen if that is the solution. I am attaching my semen culture test. Do I need a biofilm inhibitor like NAC (N-acetyl cysteine) supplement?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I saw the results provided by you and will help you to understand it better.

Thanks for sharing the culture result (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).

The prostatic infection requires long-term antibiotics and a treatment course of four to six weeks is necessary. Ten days of antibiotics are not sufficient to cure this infection. I suggest that you take tablet Cotrimoxazole DS 980 mg (Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim) once daily for six weeks. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them and take the medicines with their consent. During the treatment, please avoid sexual intercourse and engage in daily masturbation to clear the secretions. Please update me with your new semen culture results after two months.

Looking forward to serve you again, you are welcome to reach us whenever you seek expert medical opinion.

Hope it helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for replying.

Is there any other alternative of Cotrimoxazole?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can take Levofloxacin (antibiotic) 500 mg once daily for 4 weeks.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
