Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Your first query consult is on us!
I have gone through the information and the image (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) provided.
Psoriasis on the genital area needs an in-person consultation with a doctor since they need to be examined and assessed. Investigations of skin scraping also need to be done to rule out other underlying causes and infections. Genital psoriasis can be extremely itchy and may be present among other family members as they are usually genetically transmitted. If not, they may also appear due to stress, infections, medications, or foods that increase body temperature. Although not contagious, they can be bothersome especially due to itching and discomfort. Psoriasis does not have a cure as it is skin build-up due to immune-related conditions happening within one's body. But they can be managed with medications, following dietary changes, and intake of supplements.
I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below.
- Do KOH (potassium hydroxide) skin scraping to rule out fungal infections.
- Take a capsule containing cholecalciferol 60K IU once a week after dinner for six weeks and then once a month after dinner for six months.
- Apply a thin layer of Tacrolimus 0.03 % ointment on the affected area at night for one week.
- Apply Clotrimazole 1 % cream on the affected area in the morning and afternoon for two months.
- Take capsule Omega 3 once daily after dinner for two months.
- Avoid hot and spicy food.
- Avoid stagnation of sweat on the affected area.
- Do not use harsh soaps on sensitive areas. Wash the affected area with lukewarm salt water or lukewarm water when needed.
- Keep the area hydrated and apply any moisturizer once daily.
As you have rashes on your legs, kindly provide images of the same for inspection.
Kindly consult a doctor in person for examination and tests before starting these medications as they may interfere with the results.
I hope this has helped you.
Thank you.
