Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have granular pharyngitis for 60 days. Please help me.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through the sent picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You seem to have chronic pharyngitis. The pointed-out red spot indicates a lymphoid follicle and it has increased in size. There is nothing to be worried and it is treatable. You can follow the advice mentioned below. You can take a tablet containing a combination of Amoxicillin 500 mg with Potassium Clavulanate 125 mg thrice daily for five days, take tablet Zerodol P (Aceclofenac with Paracetamol) twice daily after food for five days, and take tablet Pan-D (Pantoprazole) once a day before breakfast for a week. Do salt water gargling eight to ten times a day for a month.
Avoid taking oily, spicy, and cold food. Keep sipping boiled warm water every three hours. Follow this only when you have an acute infection associated with pain while swallowing. If there is no pain or infection, then these medications are not required. Follow the measures as mentioned as it prevents the possibility of having a throat infection. There is absolutely nothing to be worried about the red spot as it does not indicate cancer or malignancy. This is only a lymphoid follicle that has increased in size due to possible previous throat infections.
