Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had puffy nipples on both sides for 15 years, and now I am a 23-year-old male with a height of 6.1 ft, and weigh 181 lbs. I think it is gynecomastia. I need to know about the treatment. Is there any risk factor?

Answered by Dr. Vivek Chail

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Gynecomastia might happen due to an imbalance of hormones estrogen and testosterone in men. First, the condition should be confirmed by consulting the endocrinologist. Most cases resolve with time and few require treatment if there is any cause that is responsible for it. Some medicines to be taken under prescription for gynecomastia includes Tamoxifen and Raloxifene. These can have side effects and should be taken only under the recommendation of an endocrinologist.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
