Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 20-year-old male with thin hair that is balding a bit (along a line, according to what I noticed). So please help me to grow thick, dense hair naturally.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and examined the picture you provided. (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).

Experiencing 100 to 150 hair falls every day is very normal. So, it should only be considered as hair loss if the number of hair falls exceeds this range. Procedures like straightening can also weaken the hair roots. Other conditions like fever, typhoid, malaria, thyroid, etc., can also cause hair fall, but these are less common. In males, most cases are of androgenic alopecia. It is a genetically determined disorder characterized by the gradual conversion of terminal hairs into indeterminate, and finally into vellus, hairs.

In your condition, you can go for PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy with Minoxidil lotion with Finasteride (Morr-F lotion). Morr-F lotion contains Minoxidil and Finasteride, which effectively treat hair loss. Minoxidil is a vasodilator that widens the blood vessels in the scalp, thereby increasing blood flow to the hair follicles and promoting hair growth. Finasteride inhibits the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is responsible for causing hair loss in males.

This can be preferred over plain Minoxidil. Other than that, you may continue to take medical treatment for your hair fall for as long as you desire. Also, I suggest vitamin supplements like the tablet Xtraglo (vitamins, minerals, and amino acids) once daily for six months.

Please take all medicines after consulting your general practitioner or nearby dermatologist.

I hope this helps.

Regards.
