Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been experiencing pain in the back of my left heel. Two days back, when I was mowing the uphill grass, the pain started. I was not jumping or stomping but simply pushing the mower. When I woke up the next morning, the pain extended to the bottom of my heel, and I had limited motion when walking. As the day went on, it seemed to get better, but this morning it has worsened. I would greatly appreciate your help and advice.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query, and I can understand your concern.

Your condition can be swelling and inflammation in the attachment of the Achilles tendon and plantar fasciitis. You need to take the following medications:

  1. Tablet Piroxicam 20 mg for ten days, after food every night.

  2. Tablet Rabeprazole 20 mg for ten days every night before food.

  3. Tablet Shelcal CT (calcium and vitamin D3) for 30 days every morning before food.

  4. Tablet Vitamin D (60 K) once daily for ten days, followed by once a month for 11 months.

  5. Apply Dolonex (Piroxicam) ointment after getting up in the morning.

Do not take these medications if you are allergic or have bronchial asthma. Consult a specialist doctor and take these medicines with their consent.

Additionally, follow these measures:

  1. Do calf stretching exercises twice daily for 15 minutes each.

  2. Wear shoes that have soft soles.

  3. Apply ice twice daily.

Doing all these things will help reduce this pain.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks and regards.

The differential diagnosis for your condition is retrocalcaneal bursitis.

Probable diagnosis

The probable diagnosis for your condition is Achilles tendon enthesitis with plantar fasciitis.

Treatment plan

The suggested treatment for your condition is medication or physiotherapy.

Preventive measures

The condition can be prevented by avoiding wearing shoes with hard soles.

Regarding follow up

I suggest you follow-up after five days for dose adjustment of medicines.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
