How should I manage my recurring painful thigh hematoma?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Before five months, I had surgery for thigh hematoma. Now, the same problem started again. It is increasing in size and painful. Also, there is swelling.

Please see the photo attached here.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

1. Hematomas are solved conservatively and only in severe cases when they give compression of an organ and are resolved surgically. This is not a big one (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

2. First, you have to find out the cause of hematoma if it is not trauma.

3. If you have coagulation disorders, then you have to see a hematologist. Do blood coagulation tests and indicators.

4. If you take any anticoagulant drug, then please talk to the doctor who has given it to rearrange the dose.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
