Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 35 years old male. For the past five years, my hemoglobin levels have been high. I had also started donating blood. Recently, I encountered dizziness all through the week. The Hb levels were high again with increased PCV when I tested myself. I am a smoker and occasional drinker. I am trying to quit smoking. Give me your opinion on this.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you do the following,

1. Get physically examined and investigated to rule out any medical condition and treat accordingly.

2. Check vitals.

3. Please share reports to guide you in detail.

4. Get other parameters checked as well to rule out any medical condition.

5. Do liver function tests, kidney function tests, lipid profile, thyroid profile, iron profile and vitamin D3 and B12 levels.

6. Keep well hydrated.

7. Avoid alcohol and smoking

8. Check blood pressure.

9. Avoid stress.

There is nothing that you can do to reduce your hemoglobin levels if all other parameters are normal.

I have a few questions.

1. Are you taking any medicine currently?

2. Do you take any medicine for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid, or cholesterol levels?

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
