Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

According to both results (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), HIV 1 RNA levels are below 40 copies/ml, which is considered undetectable. Are you taking anti-HIV medication or was the test performed to check for HIV? When and what was the most recent risk exposure?

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

It was done for HIV screening. I did the test for twelve days after being exposed, and they reported the results were always in values. Is that correct?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

After twelve to fourteen days of exposure, the HIV 1 RNA PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test is extremely sensitive. The findings of the tests are negative. The chances of later HIV tests becoming positive are practically negligible. However, it is preferable to have an HIV antibody test at a reputable laboratory after ninety days of exposure to be completely free of concern and to receive clear findings.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.
