Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had unprotected intercourse with a CSW a few months back. And I went for an HIV 1 and 2 antibody and p24 antigen test CMIA, which was non-reactive after 118 days, so am I free from HIV? This is so stressful. I am not getting any symptoms, but there is a black line under my thumb that appeared four days before, and the internet suggests it as a sign of HPV-causing melanoma.
Kindly suggest to me what to do?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for the query.
The HIV antibodies test is negative after 118 days of exposure. It is conclusive. You are free from HIV provided there is no further risk of exposure. The lines in the photo (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) sent are unlikely to be due to melanoma. It may be due to some injury or deficiencies. Do not worry and relate it to HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) or melanoma.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
So I do not need any further test and how can I move on from this incident? Is this lining normal? But I am getting these thoughts of HIV and HPV again and again.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Thank you for the query.
There is no need for further HIV testing if there is no further risk of exposure. Just relax. Forget the episode and lead a normal life. Do not relate nail problems to any diseases for now.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Not for now means? I am still facing these black lines on my nail. And having a burning sensation on my palm and the sole of my foot. I had this previously about three years ago but this sensation came back again. And yes I am an overweight person and feel like burping all day. I have tested HbsAg which came negative. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
These symptoms are not related to HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). Do not relate all of your symptoms to HIV. HIV is diagnosed by tests. It is negative after the said period. You consult your physician for symptom evaluation.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Are these symptoms related to melanoma of the skin? Are these symptoms dangerous?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Who introduced the idea of melanoma to you? Did you read it on the internet? It gives more false information than real to digest by people. Do not fall for it when you cannot understand it. There is no relation to it too.
Thank you.
