Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had my blood tests done a few months back. But I have a fear that they are using used needles instead of fresh needles. I have a fear that I can get HIV infection due to this. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

You do not need to be afraid. New needles are disposed of after use. Concerning an incident of needlestick injuries, the patient will be infected after 24 hours without prophylaxis if the needle is used for HIV patients.

Hope you find it useful.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
