Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have the black moles or pimples for the past three years. I do not have itching, burning, pain, swelling, or redness. I had protective intercourse three years back.
I took a screening test for STD two years back and got a negative result. I have attached the images.
Please advise.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The image attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) appears like a verruca planus due to a human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. I suggest you PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test for confirmatory diagnosis. The treatment plan is cautery or fulguration.
The other probable condition would be lichen planus, a non-infectious condition. But it has itching. Since you do not have any symptoms of itching, it would be verruca planus.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor for the reply,
I checked on the internet about HPV.
Please advise.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
It is my clinical diagnosis, and a PCR test is necessary for confirmatory diagnosis. You are at high risk of transmitting the disease to others. It is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). It is less likely to recur if cauterized properly.
Kind regards.
