Why does the patient's high blood pressure, vomiting, headache not get controlled?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a query about a patient with different illnesses. The patient had vomiting five days ago and did it last night also. To control vomiting, she took syrup Gravinate. But her blood pressure is high, and she has a headache. Her blood pressure reading is 152/68 mm of Hg. She has diabetes, and currently, she is taking Insulin, Ascard, Piozer, and some inhalers suggested by a pulmonologist. She also had a heart stunt procedure done three years back. Her lungs are 15 % working. What to do to control the blood pressure of a diabetic and heart patient? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. There is an urgent need to control the blood pressure since high blood pressure can worsen the heart and cause shortness of breath. It is done by hardly two medicines, but to suggest those medications, I will need all the previous reports of your patient. She is also experiencing vomiting due to high blood pressure, which cannot be controlled by syrup Gravinate (Doxylamine and Vitamin B6 [pyridoxine]). I would suggest you send me all the reports so that I can help you, or you can visit your local physician for further management. I hope you get well soon. Kindly revert in case of further queries.
