Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I took an I-pill last month, and we had unprotected sex around the same time. Do I need to retake the i-pill?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.

If you have unprotected sex and want to discontinue the pregnancy, you can take an i-pill (Levonorgestrel) 1.5 mg as early as possible after the intercourse (maximum within 72 hours). Only one tablet is required in your case. Menstrual irregularities are the side effects of the I-pill.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Will taking more than one I-pill in a month affect my future pregnancy? Or does it damages the ovaries and fallopian tube?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It may cause hormonal imbalance but will not affect future pregnancy, fallopian tubes, and ovaries.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
