Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I need help regarding with some circle bump appearing on my left buttocks, it is so very itchy and sore. I just bought antifungal cream and antifungal soap over the counter but I still want to know what really is this appearing on my buttocks. I did take some pictures of it, so I can send it over here. Please give me prescription of what medicines needs to make it disappear and heal.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from red-colored circular bumps on your left buttock which are very itchy and sore.

According to the pictures that are provided here (attachment removed to protect patient identity), I think you are suffering from folliculitis. They are developed when hair follicles become infected due to bacterial infections like staphylococcus aureus or friction or shaving. They may be caused by viral or yeast infections too. Initially, folliculitis may look like rashes, a patch of small red bumps that are very itchy with sore and form whiteheads. Overtime, they can spread and progress to crusty sores.

You can take Flucloxacillin 500 mg four times daily for 10 days by applying antibacterial cream on your affected area along with your current medications. You can apply topical steroid cream too. Wash your affected area daily with antibacterial soap and wear loose clothing along with maintaining personal hygiene.

  1. Capsule Stafloxin 500 mg 1+1+1+1 for 10 days.
  2. Tablet Allegra (Fexofenadine) 120 mg 0+0+1 for 10 days.
  3. Trimycin (Hydrocortisone + Bacitracin + Neomycin) ointment apply on the affected area 1-3 times daily.
  4. Hydrotopic (Hydrocortisone) 1% cream apply on affected area 3-4 times daily.
  5. Tablet Prevacid (Lansoprazole) 30 mg 1+0+0 (before meal) for 15 days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
