Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old male, and I am currently a jaundice patient. Recently, I underwent tests for my liver function and complete blood count. The results showed that my serum bilirubin level was 2.67 mg/dL, and my serum alkaline phosphatase level was 314 IU/L. Kindly suggest regarding my condition. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing, and I understand your concern. Yes, as I can see in the reports (attachments are hidden to protect the patient’s identity), the bilirubin level is high, but there are two types of bilirubin, direct and indirect bilirubin. And we need to determine which one is high. You would have done a complete LFT (liver function test) where direct and indirect bilirubin values can be seen. But no worries, I suggest you take a syrup Hepamerz (L-ornithine-L-aspartate and pancreatin), 5 mL daily after a meal for five days. Also, you can bring glucose and drink it throughout the day. Sugarcane juice will help as well. Please tell me what symptoms you have currently. Are you taking any medicine currently? Since when are you feeling sick? Please let me know these details to guide you further.

Regards.
