Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a health complaint. Two years ago, I was involved in an incident where two dogs were fighting and hit me on the right side. As a result, I fell and injured my right knee. Since then, I have been experiencing discomfort while walking. Sometimes, it feels like my leg bones are sliding improperly, causing me to fall. While I can walk fast and normally, running is difficult for me. I sought medical advice and consulted a doctor who confirmed that there is no ligament tear. He prescribed Aceclofenac for two months. The doctor informed me that if the pain persists, he will continue the treatment, but luckily, I have not experienced any pain. However, if I stand for more than two hours, I do feel some discomfort and pain. I am wondering what might be causing this discomfort. Someone has suggested that it could be ligament loosening. Is this a possibility, and if so, what steps can I take to reduce it?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Yes, the discomfort you are experiencing may be due to muscle weakness in the quadriceps or a partial injury to the knee ligament. To address this issue, it is recommended that you focus on strengthening the muscles through exercises such as core strengthening, VMO (vastus medialis oblique) strengthening for the knee, and hamstring strengthening exercises. It would be beneficial for you to consult with a physiotherapist who can guide you through these exercises. Additionally, it is important to supplement your diet with calcium and vitamin D. Please note that this professional advice is provided based on the information provided to me and should be correlated with clinical findings. It is subject to confirmation through an actual examination and review of reports or images.

Thank you for consulting with me.

Probable diagnosis
