Kindly advice on the red bumps I got on the penis after several times of masturbation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently noticed a red bump on my penis shaft. This occurred after my girlfriend left the country, and I started masturbating several times a day. The bump occurred in an area. Several hairs grow on my shaft. I assumed at first it was an ingrown hair, but I am not sure.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If possible forward few clear pictures of the bump to help you through precisely.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Since I thought it was an ingrown hair, I tried to get at it with tweezers. There was a hair growing out of it but as I mentioned that area has several hairs. There was no discharge, pus, or bleeding before doing it.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I saw your pics (attachment removed to protect patient identity). What I can see is red colored papule with central umbilication.

Your concern may be,

1. Molluscum contagiosum with secondary infection.

2. Folliculitis secondary to injury by tweezers.

Start using T-bact (Mupirocin) ointment. Avoid pricking or irritate your skin. Report to me or any dermatologist nearby you after inflammation (redness) subsides completely.
