Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from depression. I do not feel like doing any work; I am having problems with sleep. My appetite has become poor, and I frequently experience anxiety and panic attacks. I underwent a depression test, and the results returned stating that I suffer from severe depression.

Kindly help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Based on your symptoms, you may be suffering from a major depressive disorder. I can suggest you non-medical management guidelines that will help better your condition. You must follow a basic exercise regimen to help you overcome fatigue. You can start with basic walking for 15 to 30 minutes every day. You can also practice meditation by sitting in a comfortable position, concentrating on breathing, and calming the mind. Remember that consistency is key. Eat healthy, fresh, home-cooked food, and avoid all processed and junk foods. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Be hydrated always. Try being social and spending quality time with friends and family. You can even get on a video call if your family is away. Start a new hobby or do a new activity like reading books, writing a journal, painting, drawing, or learning a new musical instrument or language. Have plenty of sleep, almost seven to eight hours daily. Completely abstain from tobacco, drugs, or any form of substance abuse. You can start the tablet Escitalopram 10 mg in the morning after breakfast. I advise you to consult a specialist, talk to them and then take the medication mentioned with their consent. Get your CBC (complete blood count), thyroid function tests, vitamin B12, and D3 levels checked.

Good luck,

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
