Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old female. I have a lot of opinion diversity among my parents. I am depressed that there are many problems around me because I am interested in a love marriage, but my parents are not. They are very orthodox about cultural issues. I am sleepless because of all these problems. I need expert advice on how to deal with them.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

In your culture, arranged marriage is normal. Parents feel very insecure when children express their wish to marry according to their will. Main reasons are other relatives and the social group's acceptance, their concern that children are not grown up yet, and they can make mistakes. So it would be difficult to convince them. But make them agree to meet the guy and ask them their opinion after the meeting. Listen to their points. Do not make impulsive decisions. I am sure things will be better.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
