Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 21-years-old and have been masturbating for the last seven years. I have become thin and addicted to porn sites. I have become frustrated and want to quit this habit. I tried so many ways but could not. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

Masturbation does not cause any weakness or sexual dysfunction, contrary to popular belief. Remove any porn material from your mobile or laptop. Set a lock for porn sites; it will act as a primary barrier. Follow a flexible routine, exercise regularly, and take a balanced diet. Meditation daily for at least half an hour in the morning helps you relax and focus. Try to get involved in other fun activities when you feel the urge to masturbate, such as reading, exercising, listening to music, etc. Try to imagine a happy situation and try to focus on it. If none of these approaches work, you can seek out cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) from a therapist. Remember that every issue can be resolved; you simply need to attempt, and assistance is nearby.

I hope this will help you. Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
