Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am having an abscess on my balls. It is reddish and painful, but not much. I have jock itch right now. I saw terrific images on the internet, but it is not like that. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Please put up two to three clear photos of the affected area for proper evaluation and guidance.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
I am worried after I saw terrible pictures on the internet. I think I was bitten by something as there is an infection near my leg too. I am a 19 years old male. I am attaching the photos of the abscess and the jock itch. Please have a look.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I can appreciate both the abscess and the fungal infection - jock itch (attachment removed to protect patient identity). For the fungal infection, your doctor may put you on Fluconazole 150 mg to be taken twice in a week, for example on Tuesday and Friday. Take these tablets for three weeks. Apply Onabet cream (Sertaconazole) over it twice daily. Do not apply any other cream. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicine with consent. For the abscess, you need a course of antibiotics. Your doctor may prescribe Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid combination (tablet Augmentin) 625 mg thrice daily for five days. Remember to wear loose cotton clothing, especially when at home. Avoid hot and humid climates, keep the affected area dry, and avoid synthetic innerwear. If any other family members are affected, they must also be adequately treated to prevent recurrence.
Thank you.
