Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My wife has been suffering from joint pains for the past two days. She is 21 years old. We got married last month. Her symptoms are light and she also has headache.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I had gone through the details you have posted. To know the diagnosis of joint pain I need to know some details. Which joints are most involved? Is there any swelling and tenderness? Is there severe pain on movement of involved joints? There are many causes for joint pains, but the common ones are viral polyarthralgia, as other complaints are present like fever and headache probably it should be viral polyarthralgia. We need to do a complete blood picture. If only one or two joints and burning urination are present, then maybe it is Reiter's syndrome. To confirm this we need to do a complete urine examination. Connective tissue diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc., also cause joint pains. As the symptoms are only for two days, we need not work up to them right now. Kindly do CBP (complete blood profile, ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), CRP (C-reactive protein), urine examination and uric acid. For headache, I suggest tablet Naprosyn 250 mg (Naproxen) once daily. It will help to decrease headache and joint pain. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicine with consent. Also, apply Oxalgin nano gel (Diclofenac) over painful joints and Dolo 650 (Acetaminophen) as and when required for fever. If there is vomiting, then tablet Emeset 4 mg (Ondansetron) twice daily has to be used. Kindly update me with further details and reports so that diagnosis can be established and treatment can be given.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
