Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have not gotten my period in about two weeks. But a few days ago, I started bleeding and I think it may have been spotting. But it stopped quickly and I have had a little bit of bleeding every day. I have been having really bad period cramps in my right abdominal area. I have been taking painkillers and tablet Ponstan for the pain. I am also on birth control. But there is no sign of my period and not sure where to go from there.

Hi,

I appreciate you signing up on icliniq.

You now have exclusive access to expert medical opinion.

These days PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is very common, especially in young populations, with the symptoms of irregular periods, scanty periods, acne, excessive weight gain are commonly seen. You should do a USG (ultrasound) abdomen and pelvis scan, thyroid profile, and CBC (complete blood count) to rule out any pathology so accordingly we can start proper treatment.

I hope this information helps you.

Feel free to ask further queries.

Thank you.
