Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My wife has migraine pain. Generally, it comes monthly once or twice. But suddenly she had back head pain, earlier she had pain in mid of the head. Also between the left neck and left shoulder, there was some small swelling, she is also having shoulder pain and burning eye feelings. I have given her one tablet Disprin 325 mg for relief. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The various pains she is experiencing are due to migraine. I suggest you start her on stronger medications for the same. I would like to know the current treatment she is on. However, I suggest you start the following medications and your wife will feel much better within four to five days of starting treatment.
1. Tablet Inderal F 5 (Propranolol 40 mg and Flunarizine 5 mg) one tablet in the morning.
2. Tablet Tryptomer 10 mg (Amitriptyline 10 mg) at night.
In case of severe headache, I suggest you take tablet Naprosyn 500 mg (Naproxen 500 mg). If the headache is not controlled with tablet Naprosyn in half an hour, I suggest tablet Rizact 10 mg (Rizatriptan 10 mg).
Also, I suggest you please start her on the following medications as well.
1. Tablet Gabapin NT 200 mg (Gabapentin 200 mg and Nortriptyline 10 mg) one tablet at night.
2. Tablet ME 12 OD (Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg, Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) 20 mg and Folic Acid 5 mg) one tablet in the morning.
I suggest you kindly start her on these medications and send me the previous prescriptions and drugs.
Hope this helps.
Kindly revert back in case of further queries.
