Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a miscarriage due to the medicines I take, but now I am having severe pain in my abdomen. I was bleeding for just two days, and after that, I was not bleeding. So, I went to do a scan and I was told the blood has been stuck together.

What medicine can I take to make everything back to normal?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Based on the information you provided, it is possible that you may have a condition known as retained products of conception, which can occur after a miscarriage. This is when some of the pregnancy tissue remains in the uterus and can cause pain, bleeding, and infection.

Go for an ultrasound of the abdomen. Based on that, you may be recommended to undergo a procedure called a dilation and curettage (D and C) to remove any remaining tissue in the uterus. This is typically done under anesthesia and involves dilating the cervix and removing the tissue using suction or other instruments.

In terms of pain relief, Ibuprofen (Isobutyl Propionic Acid) is an over-the-counter pain medication that can help with cramps and discomfort. However, it is important to follow the recommended dosage and not exceed the maximum daily limit. It is also important to avoid taking Ibuprofen if you have a history of stomach ulcers, bleeding disorders, or other medical conditions that may make it unsafe to take this medication.

Regards.
