Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 23-year-old unmarried female and I have PCOS. I consulted many doctors and underwent treatment for about two years, but I am not satisfied. I am not getting my periods every month after treatment. It has been seven months since I did not get my period. Can you please tell me if I take the Sysron-N tablet will I get my period for now? Or which tablet should I take?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

It is better to have some health tips and lifestyle along with some investigations and treatment. Just a temporary and symptomatic treatment is not enough. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below:

  1. Have a daily walk and exercise to maintain normal BMI (body mass index) and weight.
  2. Have a nutritious healthy diet with less salt, sugar, oil, and spices.
  3. Have menstrual induction for now. Take the tablet Primolut-N (norethindrone) 10 mg twice daily for seven days and then wait for menses for one to two weeks.
  4. On the second day have blood tests (serum testosterone, progesterone, insulin, prolactin, FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone), thyroid function test, and transvaginal scan outside the period days).
  5. Have tablet Norethisterone 10 mg twice daily from day four to day 24 of menses for three months to regulate cycles.
  6. Collect laboratory reports and discuss them here or with your local gynecologist.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
