Why I missed period after Unwanted 72 post-unprotected sex?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Last month I had periods on 10th. We had sex on the 23rd night and 24th and I had unwanted 72 on the 24th night. Now I was expecting to get my periods on 7th or maximum by 10th of this month but I have not got my periods yet. What can be the problem? Is it a sign of pregnancy?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
As per the dates you have provided, you had sex on the 23rd of last month, that is 13 days from your period date, that is the most fertile period of the cycle. But you took emergency contraception, so chances of pregnancy are very less. Also, please can you tell that if your partner was using condoms or you were on any contraception apart for that emergency pill? When you take an emergency pill it also affects your period schedule. It can be 7 to 10 days before or after scheduled date, so the best course will be getting a pregnancy test done using home pregnancy kit. Kindly specify other details too so that I can guide you further. And do not panic, we are here to help.
