Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

When I looked to the side, I noticed a white circle or dot that resembled a pressure point on both the left and right sides. If I do not move my eye, it goes away. With my eyes closed, I see this as red or white flashing under the sun or lamp. What exactly is this? Is this normal? It was first seen two years ago. I have eye floaters and a strong blue field entoptic as well.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

What I need to know is, are you myopic? If yes, have you got your retina checked? What you are seeing are signs of retinal tears and peripheral retinal holes. These are most commonly seen in high hopes but can also be seen in other individuals. If you have any prescriptions or past treatment records, please upload them here for better assessments and evaluations.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have myopia five dpt. I got my eyes checked several times. One time with optical coherence tomography (OCT).

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Please consult a retina specialist in your area. He will have to see the periphery to see for lattices or holes.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I will consult a retina specialist. Are there other potential causes, such as pressure point-like things? What if they do not find any lattice, holes, or tears?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Floaters and flashes are what you are seeing. These are common in patients with high myopia, such as yourself. I would advise you begin taking antioxidant supplements. Take tablet Macugold (Lutein 10 mg, Acetylcysteine 20 mg, Melatonin 3 mg, Astaxanthin 2 mg, and Zeaxanthin 0.6 mg), Macushield (Lutein, Meso zeaxanthin, and Zeaxanthin), or I site plus (Lutein, Astaxanthin, and L-Glutathione) which will prevent further deterioration of the disease. Also, consult a retina specialist as you are experiencing these symptoms. They are almost certain to find a PVD (Peripheral vascular disease), a hole, or a lattice. So pathology is unquestionable there.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
