Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I did not get my period last month, but on the first of this month, I got spots, and on the second day, I had a heavy flow. Again on the third day, it was a light flow, and on the fourth day, it was only spotting.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for reaching out, and I am happy to help you.

Considering your age and the fact that you missed your period last month and this cycle, you noticed only one day of flow. You should be evaluated for oligomenorrhea (infrequent menstrual period) causes like PCOD (polycystic ovary disease), hypothyroidism, and hyperprolactinemia. There might be some uterine or ovarian pathologies as well. Also, we need to rule out pregnancy if you are sexually active. It would help if you did a couple of tests to know the cause behind your menstrual problem, so I can suggest appropriate treatment. Could you do the following tests? Thyroid function test, serum prolactin test, and pelvic ultrasound rule out PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and other pathologies. Do a urine pregnancy test if sexually active. Feel free to reach out for any queries. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
