Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I got my CT scan result, which states that there is a large left ovarian cyst measuring 45 x 29 x 28 mm. It has an internal septation. The doctors suspect endometrioma. The differential diagnosis of endometrioma includes mucinous cystadenoma or cystadenocarcinoma. I can share an image of the CT result. I want to know if it is something serious.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your history and report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) and understand your concerns. Your report suggests a complex ovarian cyst or mucinous cystadenoma, which is a benign ovary tumor. As they are big, removal is a better option in your case. You can go for ovarian cystectomy with the removal of the adnexal mass. No need to worry about it because it is a common benign tumor.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

Is it malignant?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, it is not malignant, so there is no need to worry about it. It is a very common tumor. Removal is important because the size becomes very big and you can have problems in the future.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I have had continuous vaginal bleeding for the past one year. The bleeding stopped just for two or three days. I am not married. I am worried because of the bleeding.

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Generally, the benign ovarian tumor does not cause any symptoms, but due to there size, they release some hormones and may cause pain, bleeding, etc. In your case, bleeding could be due to a hormonal imbalance caused by an ovarian tumor.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

My hormonal level was normal.

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your attachment (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), but I cannot see your hormonal reports. Sometimes surgery can also cause menstrual irregularities.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
